Robin Ronson

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER / RESEARCHER

About Myself

Hello! I'm Robin I work as a full stack developer at Texas Tech University. I work on projects related to web applications, machine learning, attend hackathons, enjoy biking, and playing guitar. I can be found on GitHub and LinkedIn. Take a look at my résumé and feel free to contact me.

My Projects

K-means for Image Compression
Self-Driving Car Simulation
Planar Data Classification with DNN
Neural Image Classifier
Weather Talk ANDROID APP
Open GL based Game Engine

Work

My work consisted of building a comprehensive user management system for a selective organisation. The system that I built is a web application that supports features such as an automated mailer, application forms, feedback logger and user statistics. Since, the privacy of the users of this application is protected by FERPA, I have also built into this application security features such as JSON Web Tokens and utilization of single sign-on protocol. This application was developed using full-stack methodologies with the use of MERN Stack.

Research

Robin’s research project focuses on creation of a new exploratory tool for metagenomic data analysis. The core component of this tool is a new algorithm to measure polymorphic mutational frequencies adjacent to fixed mutations, which works via an integrated Java pipeline employing several existing algorithms to process raw genomic mutational data through steps such as assembly, blast matching, re-mapping, binning, and re-assembly. Ultimately, the tool will be tested and used to iteratively improve phasing of strains from complex cellular assemblages, allowing users to measure evolutionary forces and predict trajectories of infectious disease and cancer.
